Notes from the East End Waterway Group

Dear Friends,

BOW WHARF NEWSFLASH

At its 15 May meeting the LBTH Development Committee deferred its approval of the Bow Wharf planning applications for the officers to renegotiate the section 106 agreement and report back. As there will be a new committee in place for the 19 June meeting, the Bow Wharf planning applications will be considered as a NEW ITEM with full speaking rights for members of the public.

I am reliably informed that the paper and online petitions, together with the 80 letters of objection, still stand. However, the five letters of support also stand (at least four from local businesses). As the applicant is likely to organise more letters of support, I have prepared a standard letter of objection. It includes all relevant policy contraventions from the officer's proposed reasons for refusal in the 15 May report (reasons not discussed by the Committee).

Download the letter here.

As the two petitions and your previous letters of objections would not have contained these policy contraventions, I am confident that each standard letter sent in by a previous objector will count as a new objection.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE AS MANY OTHER RESIDENTS AND OTHERS TO ALSO COMPLETE AND SEND IN STANDARD LETTERS.

PLEASE EMAIL OR SEND YOUR SIGNED STANDARD LETTER (with your full address and postcode) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and by mid-day 19 June at the latest for inclusion in the update report to the committee.

N.B. The officer's report for 19 June 2013 meeting was completed on 31 May 2013.

Please email east.end.waterway.group@gmail.com a copy of your email or send a copy of your letter to Tom Ridge, 7 Shepton Houses, Welwyn St, London E2 0JN.

ALSO, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO ATTEND THE MEETING AT THE TOWN HALL ON 19 JUNE 2013. FILLING THE PUBLIC GALLERY WITH OBJECTORS REALLY DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Tom Ridge

2nd June 2013
