The first section of the Regent's Canal, from Little Venice to Camden, was opened on 12th August 1816.

To mark the occasion there will be a small gathering on the roof terrace of Lock Keeper's Cottage, above Starbucks and the Regent's Canal Information Centre, on Friday 12th August 2016 between 2pm and 3pm. The Deputy Mayor of Camden will cut a specially made Anniversary Cake at 2.30pm and make a short speech. Starbucks have offered to provide coffee for attendees.
