Subject: Ted Baker redevelopment.

Dear Friends,

I apologise for the ridiculously short notice but I have just discovered that today is the last day of a public consultation for the Ted Baker redevelopment in Camden.

You will find some images, links and contact details on this web page

If you are already familiar with this plan - or the earlier proposals - then you might want to submit comments today via the council website. Or else you might want to send an e-mail to Jennifer.Walsh@camden.gov.uk and Planning@camden.gov.uk, quoting planning reference 2017/5497/P.

If you would like more information or if you would like to contribute to a objection on behalf of our group then please contact me. I will be reading the planning documents over the next three weeks and will be putting observations and extracts on our website. We will aim to submit a combined objection in early January.

This is a controversial plan because it will take the canal frontage to an unprecedented height and will change the character of the canal irreversibly. It also misses several oportunities to connect the operational side of the canal with the surrounding roads and the current plans will reduce the canal to an ornamental water feature rather than a major component of an integrated transport strategy.

Best wishes,

Ian Shacklock
