Subject: Friends of Regent's Canal - Public Meeting on 29th May

Dear Friends,

Our next public meeting will take place at the London Canal Museum on Wednesday 29th May at 7pm. (For directions, see http://friendsofregentscanal.org/events/2013/2013-05-29/flyer-for-meeting-20130529.html).

The main theme for the first half of the meeting will be canal-side development. We will hear updates on the Canal Park project (Olympic Legacy) and proposals for refurbishment of the Islington Boat Club. We will also discuss examples of developments (old and new) that enhance or spoil the functioning of the canal, with a view to agreeing criteria for commenting on future applications. If you would like to see some of our work in progress (including a photo gallery of the canal banks) then please contact me directly.

In the second half of the meeting we can discuss some of your ongoing concerns (e.g. litter, mooring) and we can take ideas for the revived canal information centre in Camden. If you can send me some of your queries or comments in advance then there is a greater chance of working them into the agenda or putting you in touch with the right people during the coffee break.

I look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at the meeting.

Best Wishes,

Ian Shacklock.
