Subject : Friends of Regent's Canal - Events this month

Dear Friends

I would like you to be aware of some canal-related events that are scheduled in the coming weeks.

Tomorrow (Sunday 8th July), there will be a Family Fun Day at the Islington Boat Club, 11am to 4pm.
This could be a good opportunity to view their premises (at the City Road Basin) and to find out what the Club can offer the community.

Next Friday (13th July) there will be a preview of "Regent's Canal" - a folk opera. This is at the London Canal Museum at 7:30pm. It is the first of over a dozen performances to mark the 200th anniversary of the start of the canal construction.

Next weekend (13th to 15th July) there will be a series of activities along the canal. These are referred to collectively as the Regent's Canal Festival, and they will stretch from Little Venice to Mile End Park. This will include gondola rides, market stalls, the opening up of artists' workshops, boat trips, and various other attractions.

The following weekend (21st and 22nd July) is the Shoreditch Festival along the Regent's Canal, stretching from Whitmore Road N1 to Dunston Road E8.

Details of these and other events (including maps and leaflets) can be found on the Events page of our website.
