Subject: Friends of Regents Canal - Opportunity to have your say on Biodiversity
Dear Friends
The Hackney Biodiversity Consultation ends on 24th October and I am sure that most of you would want to show support for the 5-year plan.
As a minimum I intend to write a letter of support from the Friends of Regent's Canal and I would like to supplement this with messages from yourselves. If you would like to help with this then please reply to this e-mail and I will try to coordinate a collective response.
This consultation is not restricted to Hackney residents. We can all benefit from Hackney's biodiversity plans.
You will find the full 103-page document here
http://www.hackney.gov.uk/Assets/Documents/CDM_n4129500_v1_Full_Draft_BAP.pdf
but if you just want to read about the waterways aspects then please focus on pages 59 to 65.
Please do not feel obliged to read any details in this document before getting in touch with me. In a lot of cases I'm just looking for examples and anecdotes, and I won't decide on our approach until I know who is available to contribute.
Alternatively, if you want to submit your responses independently, then please follow the instructions on this page

Best wishes,
Ian Shacklock
