Dear Friends,

Our next public meeting will take place this Wednesday at the London Canal Museum, 7pm to 9pm.

These minutes are simply a record of attendees and presenters, but I am prepared to supplement them with images and summaries on the website. Please advise me of any corrections or enhancements.

The agenda for the next meeting is as follows.

1. Introductions and Announcements
2. Cycle calming measures at City Road Basin.
3. Changes in St Peter's ward, Islington.
4. Threats to the canal.
5. Mayoral elections 2012.
6. Public consultation on Hackney biodiversity plan.
7. Q&A

On this occasion there will be no formal presentations, apart from an update from British Waterways, when we will be introduced to their new towpath ranger. However, between 8pm and 9pm there will be an opportunity for members of the public to ask a wide variety of questions about the canal. To assist with the scheduling of these questions I would like participants to either send them to me via e-mail or to write them on a card during the first half of the meeting. I intend to publish the questions and answer on our website after the meeting. Even if we are unable to respond to everything on Wednesday evening, I believe that this will be a very useful exercise to determine the issues that people feel strongly about.

Best wishes,

Ian Shacklock
Chair, Friends of Regent's Canal
