WARNING

This might seem quite straightforward and user-friendly, but there are certain things you need to consider before submitting comments. If you do not save your original comments somewhere, then you might not see them again. They could be lost in transit or they could be truncated when stored. Also, you will not be able to share them with your peers or with the local press. So it is a good idea to store your responses on your own computer first and to copy them into the online form.

The two most important fields on this form (apart from your identity) are the Comments and the Comment Type.
For comment type, you must choose between one of the following four options :-
  • Comment Made
  • No Objection
  • Objection
  • Support

Is there a great rush to submit comments?

THIS SECTION WAS WRITTEN ON 26TH APRIL. THE OFFICIAL END DATE FOR THE CONSULTATION WAS 7TH MAY, BUT YOU CAN STILL SEND COMMENTS BY E-MAIL IF YOU THINK THIS WILL ASSIST THE COUNCIL.

No, not at the moment. The "consultation" period has been extended twice, and we have until 7th May to comment online. (After that, the online form will probably become inaccessible).

The original end date was 13th April. This was changed to 25th April, and now it has been changed again. This implies that the council now appreciates that this is not an insignificant application.

Unless you have already decided what comments to submit, you should consider waiting a few days, because this application is attracting a lot of press attention, and it is likely to be a hot topic in an imminent local bi-election (in the same ward as the Lock Keeper's Cottage).

You do not need to use the online form to submit comments. Often it is more effective to send an e-mail instead. Click here for a list of people to write to.
