September 2010
At the Friends of Regent's Canal meeting, 29th September 2010, Fiona Maclean asked
about the proposed new structure of British Waterways
Richard Rutter informed the group that British Waterways will be run as a Trust and would have
a Service Level Agreement with the government
for a minimum of 10-15 years. There would be opportunities for groups to get more involved
and for communities to adopt stretches of canal. It is envisaged that a new structure will be in place by spring 2012.
