Please be advised that due to a fire in the Maida Hill tunnel we've closed navigation between Bridge 1 and Lock 3 until the emergency services have attended. Updates will be provided when our team have been given the all clear.
The Maida Hill tunnel will be closed, as a precautionary measure, due to a second incident at the UKPN substation at Maida Vale on 12.05.2025. We will review the situation on 13.05.2025 and update accordingly.
Specialist contractors have been mobilised to undertake an environmental clean up following the incident at the substation adjacent to the canal. Action to reopen navigation as soon as possible following the clean up is in progress. Updates to follow.
Maida Vale will be closed for 24 hours while we carry out a pollution response.
