Volunteering Event at Johnson's Lock

Dear All,
So it is time for an event at Ben Jonson lock, it has been a while but now we need to do some maintenance there. We need to install a fence on the offside meadow, there has been lots of footfall and the plants have suffered so we have decided to install a fence. We also need to do some weeding of the meadows and the floating planters, there are some invasive plants taking hold and we need to weed them before they seed. We also need to do some general cleaning in and around the meadows and the planters. There is a lot to do so we need quite a few volunteers to help. We will need 2 or 3 people to get into some waders and weed the plants in the canal. If you don't fancy this, don't worry there are loads of land based jobs to do.
We will meet at the Ragged School Cafe on the tow-path - E3 4RR. We will be there from 9.30 am to get you all kitted out with gloves, boots etc. We will start the event at 10 am, then have a lunch break from 1 pm. We should be finished by about 4.30 pm, but if you have to leave earlier that is fine. Join us for the whole day if you can, or you are welcome to come for half a day if that suits you. We will supply all safety clothing and equipment, just wear suitable clothing. We will supply lunch and drinks, but feel free to bring your own if you have special dietary requirements.
