Closure of canal walk along Vincent Terrace

The council has changed the signs on the locked gates. Previously there was no guarantee of them being unlocked. It now looks more promising that we will have access to this beauty spot in the near future. Time is of the essence because the weather conditions have improved and visitors are flocking back into this area.

There are still some unanswered questions, apart from the dates and times of re-opening. For example, how and when did this walkway suddenly become unsafe? What will it take to rectify the dangers? Is it any less safe than the lock gates that visitors often climb along? Are there plans to resurface the path or is it going to become a wildlife-friendly zone?
