Here are some photographs of the Regent's Canal between Danbury Street and City Road Lock,
only a couple of hundred yards from the Angel tube station .
This is one of the most colourful and picturesque scenes in London. People come here to enjoy this unspoilt open space, where boats congregate to fill up their water tanks, to descend in the lock, or to use the wide area as a turning circle before heading back to Camden. |

The next four photographs illustrate the extent to which the exhibition encroaches onto the open space.
This prevented narrow boats from turning around above the lock. |

There was very little advance warning about the disruptions.
Residents in the immediate vicinity received leaflets through their doors but very few boaters were aware of the event. This sign appeared on the lock shortly before the event. |
